The World

Today In class we mostly did the same as yesterday and present our country powerpoints. I feel like I’ve been all around the world learning about customs and traditions. For example, in Nigeria it is typical for it to be three weddings when getting married. Marriages are saw through the court system, traditions, and religion. They each are significant in their lives.

Presenting Day

Today in class I presented my country presentation. I also enjoyed learning about other cultures around the world. It felt sort of overwhelming ,but a good learning environment. My friends teaching me about other cultures felt kinda weird because they usually are lazy, but they actually put work into this project.
Today in class we missed most of the class time due to ACT studying, but when we came back we discussed presentations and what was expected.
Today I was absent from class.

Mexico

Today in class we were asked to go into groups of our same countries that we were assigned Monday. My country was Mexico so I partnered with Canada in the North America group. Mexico has strange customs, like never arrive to an event on time. In America it’s weird to arrive late and we must be on time or we’ll be criticized or looked at funny.

Telling The Truth

Watching your favorite joking entertainers on tv sounds great because you’re already prepared to laugh. Entertainers such as comedians specialize in joking about race, sex, and marriage. They speak for certain parties when talking and mostly saying things that others are afraid to. They refer to this as speaking the truth. This isn’t always good because humor can be taken the wrong way leading in all sorts of bad outcomes and I feel that humorists should limit what they say. They never know if it’s the right time to joke, right setting, or even the right person.
